Now that we are finally into spring I felt it very fitting – a bumble bee design wall paper from Farrow and Ball. This particular wall paper design is typically found in a whimsical children’s play room or bedroom. But for my piece this week I decided to use it in a bathroom design to show you its versatility and rustic elegance and how to tie it altogether with pieces available in stores now.

This particular wallpaper from Farrow and Ball comes in a variety of colours to choose from. So should you prefer a different colour palette you should find something to compliment it here. Click here to be redirected to bumble bee wallpaper.

For this look I chose a built in painted unit for the sink area. The colour paint choice is a Navy Black from Farrow and Ball (Black blue Farrow and Ball paint) with brass handle detail. This can be accomplished if you have an old unit that you don’t want to part with that can be customized, with the sink inserted, new handles and a new counter top it will make a perfect addition to your bathroom.

White stone work was used in this piece and I would highly recommend Miller brothers for their work. They have a great selection of designs and are very passionate about their work and it shows in the finished product. Click here to be directed to their website.

For our tiling I chose the metro white ceramic tiles. These are fantastic for its simplicity and also its ability to look so amazingly different depending on the direction in which the tile is positioned, I chose the traditional herringbone design. This particular tile is regularly on offer in many stores and is an inexpensive way to retile an entire space on a low budget. I found this piece in Woodies DIY for €20.32 I have attached an image of the different variations of styles this tile can be placed to give you alternative options. Click here to be redirected

Moving onto our final details we chose for lighting to stick with simplicity so that nothing takes from the beautiful wallpaper design and really just compliments the room. We went for the globe lighting from Amara.com for its brass detail and simple sleek minimalist design. Priced at €339. Click here to be redirected

There are amazing selections of brass lighting available in stores should your budget not allow you too high a price tag. We have attached similar or alternative pieces that will also work really well with this bathroom design.

For our finishing touches we kept to the brass & gold finish and our design choices very simple. The gold stool from Zara is multipurpose, It acts as a stool and also a small table that would be perfect beside the bath or shower area to add interest to the overall look. For our choice of mirror I decided to go with something with a little edge to add a modern touch to this design, with its hexagon shape and gold trim it really does just that. From Littlewoods Ireland this beauty is €109 Click to be redirected to littlewoods Ireland

Using some of H&M Home accessories we opted for a gold tray for display. Dressing a tray with a few key essentials e.g. scented candles, perfume bottles, small vase of fresh flowers etc adds such luxury to any room in your home and can be so inexpensive. Priced at €19.99 . Click here

With the bath mat we decided to go with the jute rug with tassel detail. Also from H&M and priced at €9.99 Click here

Finally our vase… for anyone that doesn’t want to use fresh flowers, I found the faux flowers from Ikea, and our vase from West Elms Click here for West Elms .

We hope you found something of interest to add to your home design. Should you have any question don’t hesitate to get in touch.
